Trump Plans to Do on His First Day Back in Office!

Trump’s inauguration ceremony is Monday, marking the start of his return to the White House. As President-elect, Donald Trump has outlined several key actions he intends to take on Day 1 in office.

During his third campaign for the presidency, Trump spoke about his initial plans, including closing the border and starting aggressive drilling initiatives. He mentioned his intention to act swiftly, stating, “After that, I’m not a dictator.”

One of Trump’s early goals was to fire Jack Smith, the special counsel responsible for two federal cases against him. However, Smith resigned as special counsel on Jan. 10, making this promise irrelevant.

Key priorities for Trump on his first day include:

  1. Immigration: Trump has vowed to launch the largest deportation program in U.S. history, focusing on removing criminal migrants. His plan is to use the military to help enforce these measures by declaring a national emergency. He also plans to close the southern border immediately upon taking office.
  2. Birthright Citizenship: Trump aims to end birthright citizenship through an executive order, requiring at least one parent to be a citizen or legal resident for their child to receive U.S. citizenship.
  3. Pardoning Jan. 6 Defendants: Trump has expressed a desire to pardon many individuals convicted for their roles in the January 6 Capitol attack, referring to them as “wrongfully imprisoned.”
  4. Tariffs on Mexico and Canada: Trump has proposed charging a 25% tariff on products from both countries until issues related to drugs and illegal immigration are addressed. This has been met with resistance from leaders in Mexico and Canada.
  5. Ending the Russia-Ukraine War: Trump has claimed he could end the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours, though specifics on how this would be achieved remain unclear.
  6. Green New Deal: Trump has criticized the Green New Deal, promising to terminate it and reverse policies associated with the Inflation Reduction Act that focus on clean energy.
  7. Transgender Military Ban: Trump plans to reinstate his previous ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, as well as signing orders to end transgender rights in schools and sports.

Additionally, Trump has expressed support for granting green cards to noncitizens who graduate from U.S. colleges and expanding H-1B work visas to attract top talent.

Overall, Trump’s Day 1 promises include sweeping changes across various policies, with a strong emphasis on immigration, national security, and economic reform.
