Former President Joe Biden left a letter for President Donald Trump on the Resolute desk in the Oval Office, wishing him “all the best for the next four years,” as reported by Fox News. Trump opened the letter and described it as “very nice,” noting that it was inspirational and conveyed the importance of the presidency. He also appreciated the letter’s positive tone and mentioned that he might share it with the public.

The letter, which was two paragraphs long, was addressed to “Dear President Trump.” Biden wrote, “As I take leave of this sacred office I wish you and your family all the best in the next four years.” He also expressed a prayer for prosperity, peace, and grace for the nation. The letter concluded with a prayer asking for God’s guidance.

Trump discovered the letter on Monday evening while speaking with reporters. When asked if he had found it, he opened a drawer in the desk and found a white envelope with “47” written on it. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “It could have been years before we found this thing. Wow, thank you.”

Biden continued the tradition of leaving a letter for his successor, a custom that Trump followed in 2020 when he handed the office over to Biden. Trump also spoke about the feeling of returning to the White House, describing it as “one of the better feelings I’ve ever had.”
